Learning Strategies & Peer Services  

The Learning Strategies & Peer Services (LSPS) goal is to promote student achievement and retention, develop independent life-long learners, and support innovation in learning and teaching through the integration of learning strategy and peer tutoring services.

Georgian College Library & Learning Support

The LSPS provides all Georgian students with writing, math and study skills, learning strategies and peer tutoring.

The staff's priority is to empower students to take responsibility for their own learning while assisting students as they develop high-level learning competencies.

To achieve this goal the LSPS is staffed by a team of

• Learning Strategists
• Peer Tutoring experts
• Senior students trained as Learning Skills Assistants (LSA)

The LSAs work in the Knowledge Hubs (Barrie) in the Library Commons, the Write On! Centre and in the Math Help Centre.

One-on-one tutoring is available to students in specific courses. Tutors are matched with students on an individual basis by the Peer Services Advisor. Students who would like to receive tutoring may visit one of our knowledge hubs or meet with the Peer Services Advisor to discuss individual tutoring needs.
